Film for the Future – Take Me Somewhere Nice
Film for the Future (name inspired by (stolen from) the Idlewild song), is a collection / dumping ground of resources from all the films I’ve watched and been inspired by.
I’m attempting to start a series of blog posts here, so let’s see how it goes…!
The idea came when watching the amazing ‘Take Me Somewhere Nice’, written and directed by Ena Sendijarevic, starring Sara Luna Zoric as Alma, and produced by Pupkin Film. I watched it on Mubi, which is the greatest resource for world cinema, and you should definitely check it out.
The film is exquisitely shot, and whilst watching it I thought every scene feels like a still photograph, so I started taking pictures of my TV. This is something I do regularly when watching something, so my phone is basically full of pictures of films I’ve watched!
Take Me Somewhere Nice is a perfect film for me – very little happens, it’s in a different language, and it looks amazing.
